LETTER FROM SR. MARTIN
Dear parents of Spanish students at Cherokee Charter Academy,
My name is Sean Martin. I am currently finishing my education to receive a degree of Master in the Art of Teaching: Spanish this spring. I have been teaching with Mrs. Teixeira since January of this year. Until this point, my role has been one of assisting Mrs. Teixeira with the development of lessons, assisting students while she assumes the role of primary instructor, and taking over as lead instructor for a number of lessons during the week. During quarter 4, I will be assuming the role of full time instructor while Mrs. Teixeira observes and assists. In this capacity, I will also be placed in charge of communicating with you, the parents. Spanish 6th: We began class today with a writing activity in which you all used story boards to create a story. We then took notes on the culture of Costa Rica. We finished class by finalizing Minicuento 1. We also took notes on Minicuento 2 and wrote down the key vocabulary that goes with it.

7th grade: We began class today by taking notes on Costa Rica. After studying the natural environment of Costa Rica and its culture we played jeopardy. While playing jeopardy we reviewed the key vocabulary and grammatical elements that we have been studying.
